How does swapping work?top

You the professional therapist, register your details online with CompTogether, and then you will be sent a password by CompTogether, which you can then change to something more memorable. You can then search the database for a suitable swap partner. You also keep your details updated and accurate for those members who are searching for you. Click here to try this now.

Making Contacttop

Once you've found your partner it's up to you how you decide to make contact, whether by phone or email, or both.  No addresses are put on this part of the site.  Also how you exchange treatments is up to you. You may chose to exchange treatments one after the other on the same day, or over consecutive days or weeks.  It's all down to you and your partner. We do not check any details of therapists registered on the site, that's down to you.  At CompTogether we recommend following these guidelines when meeting someone new for the first time:

1. Make initial contact by email if possible to find out if the therapist you have chosen wants to swap treatments at present and is interested in your therapies. This will allow the other therapist time to read your full details on the CompTogether site.

2. If the therapist is interested in doing a swap, phone to discuss further. A phone conversation will enable you to get to know your partner.

3. Exchange copies of qualifications, certificate of membership of a professional body and insurance details. If all is in order arrange to swap treatments. CompTogether, while able to facilitate swapping treatments, can take no responsibility for any of the therapists listed on this site. Your personal security is your responsibility. However, the situation you are facing is the same as that faced by members of the public when first seeing a complementary health therapist for treatment.
How do I join?top
You fill in the the Join form. As a qualified therapist, you can then also access the Swap Directory, Purple Pages Directory and Case Study Finder, where you will be asked to provide additional relevant details. Your details are password protected and can be changed by you whenever you want.
Being on the Swap Directorytop

Once you're on the list, use the "your comments" area on your Joining Form at any time to say who you are interested in swapping with, such as reflexologists, and anything else that's relevant. Use the "your comments" area to say when you can't swap and when you can, for instance if you have booked a holiday. You can alter your details whenever you want. Please also respect the comments of therapists listed on the site, for example, if you are a newly qualified therapist and a listed therapist specifically says 'do not want to swap with newly qualified therapists' obviously do not contact them. The comments area on the JOIN form should be filled out in full, as this acts as filter for everyone listed, that is it removes incompatible swaps. Although you may need to talk with the therapist first before fully knowing whether you are indeed compatible.

If you are unable to reciprocate a treatment due ill-health, do not contact therapists until you are well. Or offer to pay for your treatment from your chosen therapist.

Security top

Your details are protected by the Data Protection Act 1998. This means your details will not be given to any third party outside of the CompTogether list without your consent. See our Privacy Policy for further details. Only professional therapists who are members of a professional body or organisation are encouraged to join the site. It's elitist but for good reasons. The swap directory is password protected to keep out members of the public. It's purely for the benefit of therapists, and your details will only be seen by other members of CompTogether.co.uk. Important! We stress again, we do not check credentials - you must do that yourself at or before your first meeting. All genuine therapists will understand the need for security.
