What is Spiritual Coaching?
Spiritual Coaching is all about raising the Spiritual Intelligence of both the Coachee and the Coach. Spiritual Intelligence is defined as follows:
- Self-awareness - who am I and what are my good and bad points? What turns me on and off?
- Being vision and value led. Spiritually intelligent people want to serve something larger than themselves.
- The capacity to face adversity and use it constructively. "To own my weakness, to learn from my mistakes."
- Being holistic, seeing the connection between things.
- Tolerance and the celebration of diversity. " The person who is the same as me has nothing to teach me, whereas the person who is different from me is my teacher."
- Field independence - standing against the crowd.
- The ability and willingness to ask questions, to be concerned about the 'why' of things.
- Harmlessness and compassion.
- The ability to refrain from things.
- Spontaneity and flexibility - freedom: the passion to be, to know, to play, to be free - the quality of living in the moment.
