Hands of Light: A guide to healing through the human energy field by Barbara Ann Brennanview

Hands of Light: A guide to healing through the human energy field by Barbara Ann Brennan
Reviewer: Tracey Goulding BSc(Hons), BA(Hons), ITEC diplomas aromatherapy and massage
June 2004
cover 'Hands of Light' mixes scientific knowledge with personal experiences to explain the human energy field and Barbara Brennan's approach to training as a healer.  The book is exceptional in establishing a theoretical basis to explain changes in the energy fields and the impact of channelling.

This reflects the author's own training as a physicist.  But she also manages to skilfully interweave her own subjective experiences of the healing process, from her childhood experiences to the illnesses she has treated over the years.  The reader is taken step-by-step on a journey of consciousness expansion - to step beyond the science into a metaphysical world.

The book contains numerous illustrations; some coloured to show the human aura and the healing process in action.  It also has a list of exercises to do at the end of every chapter, to help develop the reader's understanding and practise of healing.

The Reiki Sourcebook
Reviewer: (c) Bronwen and Frans Steine 2003, O Books.
September 2005
The Reiki Sourcebook is the most comprehensive book on the healing modality to date.  The non dogmatic style and clear presentation demystifies Reiki and the many preconceptions that surround it.  The Reiki Sourcebook is written in an accessible style with simple diagrams and easy to read historical information.

The RSB is the result of the authors' deep interest in the true Japanese roots of Reiki healing and their research has brought together all the important information hat has been taught, discussed and written about since it's beginnings.

The sourcebook makes essential reading for all those interested in Reiki- from beginners to those teaching Reiki professionally.  The book includes simple answers to explain what Reiki is and what to expect, and moves on to feature the origins of Reiki and it's development up to the present day- and beyond.  The definitive glossary, comprehensive list of the numerous Reiki branches which have cropped up over the last few years and the inclusion of traditional Japanese Reiki techniques provides something for everyone to learn, use and enjoy.
