Chinese Medicine: The Web That Has No Weaver by Ted J. Kaptchuk (recommended)
Tracey Goulding
September 2005
Kaptchuk's book was first published in the early 1980s at a time when Traditional Chinese Medicine was less accepted than it is today.  His book soon became known as 'the' authoritative introduction to Chinese medicine in the West.  Yet two decades later, it still remains the book recommended by many colleges teaching Chinese medicine in the UK to anyone thinking of studying Chinese Medicine.  It provides the reader with a solid understanding of the origins, philosophy and practice of Chinese medicine. There are extensive notes to each chapter and appendices, which digress into some of the complexities inherent in Chinese medicine.  A highly recommended book for new students of Chinese medicine, those wondering whether to study the subject and others who are just curious and want to have some understanding of this immensely fascinating subject.   The Journal of Traditional Acupuncture in their "rave" review of the book, commented "[it has] something for practically everyone".
